My NaNoWriMo Project 2016

Hi guys,

as I have mentioned months years ago that I wanted to continue writing a novel I’ve started in 2013 for NaNoWriMo. Well wanted and tried are the hottest keywords you can use for my project. Because it didn’t get that far.

But first of all for those who don’t know what NaNoWriMo is. NaNoWriMo, short for National November Writing Month, is a writing program for people all around the world who set the goal to write 50.000 words from November 1st to November 30th. That word count would mean a short novel or a great start for a bigger novel. Here you can visit their website for more information.

Naturally, since I wanted to write stories since I can think (as well as drawing), this project just seems perfect to me. Before NaNoWriMo, I tried my luck with ScriptFrenzy (in 2009 I think?!), a little brother project by NaNoWriMo in which you should write a hundred page movie/TV/play script within the month of April. Sadly, this project wasn’t continued due to financial issues. This was actually perfect for people who weren’t sure if they could write 50.000 words in a month, such as me. But hey, I wasn’t even able to manage that (I think I wrote 50 pages or such, I sadly can’t find the whole script anymore).

So even if I haven’t finished my project (I really haven’t written more than 18.000 words) I just wanted to show you this project. Maybe it’s something new for you to discover.

My NaNoWriMo Project 2016

Working Title: Run For Seven
Year I started with it: November 2013
Word count (so far): 18.497
(Schokocheety is my username on NaNoWriMo btw)

What is Run For Seven about?
Run For Seven is about The Seven Sins coming down to Earth as humans to find their replacements beyond High School students (might gonna change that to College students). Little do they know that the Sins are awaited by a religious group of Hunters who want to see the Sins dead and plunge the world into chaos to reinvent the world and form them after their believes. Not to forget that if the Sins can’t find their replacements in time, the system of the world gets damaged and slowly but steadily will repel humanity. So time is running fast for the Seven as they not only have to find their replacements but also convince them that the newbies are in fact the new Sins. Will they save the world before it’s too late?

Far too many characters

There are going to be quite a few characters, I even had a list for all of them because there are going to be fourteen main characters. It’s more reasonable to pick a few main ones telling the stories and let the others ride along, as much as it feels wrong to do so. But seven sins and seven replacements are a lot, yeah. Oh and not to forget the villains and some side characters to add the fun. I need a clipboard to organize literally everything, this is madness for me.

But it sounds fun in my head…!

As almost everything does. That story never lets me go and I hope that I will be able to finish it. There is some epic adventure ahead of me and my characters. With the motivation of NaNoWriMo 2016 I might start planning it and be able to write some more. At least I’ve written a bit about it last year, although it’s mostly blabla, my favorite kind of writing. Forever continuing and never getting to the point.

Just like with my blog posts!

Hey guys,

for today there’s a very different blog post because it’s more of an announcement: my blog Blattzirkus turned one years old this month! And I’m super proud that it actually turned one and that I haven’t just abandoned it after having it for a couple of months. That’s progress.

So what has happened with my blog within that year?

Basically, for once, it survived that long. I already tried writing blogs twice and I always abandoned them because I forgot about them or had no time or inspiration for it. It probably wasn’t the right timing for me writing blogs and stuff. But now that a lot of people are doing it and you see so many cool inspiring blogs, it probably stays exciting because you want to be as good as them one time.

That, if I actually start putting effort into this. Which I don’t. Just saying. I want to, but then I’m like – this is a hobby, not a job! I’m trash. Let’s see what the second year will bring, coming to making effort with posts.

Second, here are some statistics!

I can’t leave this post without adding statistics. I was thinking about not making my views public but what the heck, who would use them?

Bildschirmfoto 2016-09-04 um 15.21.14

As of the day of September 4th, I wrote 63 blog posts, had 899 page views and 489 visitors. For me, that’s a lot. I’m not huge at advertising things (because I don’t make too much effort and that’s embarrassing) so that’s an okay number. I get some books I ask at publishing houses, so I think that’s not too bad.

Apparently WordPress sucks, so I have no idea how I can make September 2015 reappear again. My monthly statistics look fun tough, with regular swings.

Oct. 15: Views 54/ Visitors 17; Nov.: VIE 68/VIS 36; Dec.: VIE 55/VIS 33;

Jan.: 127/65 ; Feb.: 62/34 ; March: 69/41 ; April: 61/34 ; May: 127/65 ; June: 29/25 ; July: 58/40 ; August: 132/69 ;

How about my diversity of blog posts?

So, how many reviews have I written? How many book talks? Is there even much diversity in my blog?

Category Books

1x Book Preview (Magnus Chase)
21x Book Talks
30x Full Book Reviews

Category Life

1x News (Nominated for Liebster Award)
1x Movie & TV Shows (The Sound of Music)
1x Vacation (How not to pack your bag for vacation)
2x Music (Selena Gomez & Troye Sivan)

How many follower do I have by now?

On WordPress, 25 people are following me.
On Twitter, there are 23 Followers.
On Instagram, 49 people subscribed to my account.
And last but not least, I have 3 people liking my page on Facebook.

Better some than none, right?

(Note from the Editor (which is me, but it does sound cooler): WordPress is at 26, Twitter at 25, Instagram at 55 and Facebook at 7 likes).

That’s pretty much it. Let’s hope this blog will survive another year (it has too, I have some books to review…) and that a few people want to read what I write 🙂
